Trying something new can be so thrilling and exciting, especially when you know that it will be an amazing experience. For that reason, I always challenge myself to try at least 1 new thing every day. This is a good practice not only to keep yourself fresh but also a proof that world is like a treasure map that keeps countless diamonds to discover called experience.
Like you guys know, I love taking portrait, I love to capture the happy feeling that is shown from smiles and I never get bored doing it. But when this invitation came last year, it is an unforgettable request from Vany that she asked me to capture her steps becoming a mother, I would say nothing than Yes.
Vany told us that what make this experience was so precious especially for her is because there are a lot of new things that she did for the first time. She told us how excited she was when she saw the two red bars on the test pack. How anxious she was when she met her doctor for the first time and how relieved she was when the doctor said her baby was okay and healthy as well. How happy she was when she saw the baby's face through the USG screen for the first time. And most of all, how grateful she was when she knew that she will be a mother. With her hands she will raise her baby into a man. Filling him with the greatness of life, which is being grateful in happiness, and be virtuous in sadness. To understand righteousness, judgement, and honesty, and then he shall understand and find the knowledge of God.
Through all those lessons, she asked us just a simple request, she wanted to be photographed so she could recall all this new experiences.
About the session, it was a rainy day in Jakarta, so we had to wait for rain to stop to have a outdoor session. I started to worry when the rain didn't look like it was going to stop. The sky was getting darker and darker, but when I told them that we have to wait for another hour to start the session, in a very nice way Vany said "If you must wait for 9 months and 10 days for a baby born, 1 hour is just like a blink. Take it easy Artha... It Worth the Wait !" That words just warmed my heart.
To Leo and Vany, congratulation for the new baby. I believe he will grow up to be a tough and a gentle man and will make you proud as he grow up.
Hugs,
Artha
