At a glance Albert could fool strangers that he is a macho, friendly, reserved guy who does not embrace his emotions. But all those guard fell down the moment he laid his eyes on his beloved, Cathline. Even a blind man can see Albert is powerless to the beauty that is Cathline. It was beautiful to see that such a strong man was brave enough to release his inhibition in front of his chosen few on their special day. Tears came streaming down his face when he realized he was about to hold a special woman’s hands for the rest of their lives; and be husband and wife. Those tears cried out the uncontainable pride and honor he felt in his heart. Tears are the words the heart fail to say. After all, Cathline is a one-in-a-million type of woman who prance through life as if it was made out of cotton candy and butterflies.

Her poise and charisma draw people near to her. Her caring tenderness glues her tight to the people around her. Cathline’s gracefulness to accept all of Albert’s quirks and frugal ways made Albert pulled all the stops for her. At first Albert was intimidated by Cathline’s spiritual maturity. This motivated Albert to join the bible study that Cathline went to because he knew that Cathline enjoyed spending time learning the Word. Over time, their relationship grew stronger because it is rooted in the Word of God. Their journey together made Albert realize that life is more than about achieving earthly success, it’s about acknowledging God’s grace that is shown through the presence of his loved ones.

Beyoncé once said in one of her songs, Upgrade U, “It’s very seldom that you’re blessed to find your equal.” Truth be told: in life people have different starting point, but what matters is how we sail through life with the right partner that will not lead us astray.  Albert may have had a later start in his Christianity, but Cathline’s nurturing nature guided him into being her equal on their wedding day. And on that wedding day the way Albert looked into Cathline’s eyes showed how head over heels in love with her. And it was not only because of her breathtaking beauty, but because of the man she has made him to be. It is safe to say that they bring out the best in each other.
