Will Loo Marry Me?

One of my most favorite questions to ask couples is: “how did he propose?” Eagerly I asked the same question to Widiany, “How did Eka propose?”

Firstly she described Eka’s personalities: gentle, caring, always strive to make her comfortable, most importantly he always tries to make her smile by cracking small jokes here and there. This last quality of him was proven true even in the most nerve wrecking of moments.

The proposal happened during one of their fine dining dinner dates so Widiani wouldn't be suspicious of what was going to take place. But Eka, being the man of the hour, couldn't hide his nerves that a few courses in, he was acting a little bit funnier than usual. Widiani reached over to hold his hands hoping to calm him down from whatever was bothering him. The coldness of his hands resembled those of a corpse. It was beyond normal temperature cold! Overwhelmed with concern Widiani asked, “Are you okay?” Funnily Eka said, “Yea sure I’m fine. Just holding in the number “two.”” So he left for the loo. But he hardly took a moment there and came back instantly and said, “It won’t come out yet.” Awkwardly a short moment later he said, “Darn it! It’s TIME!”

So he went to the “loo”, this time he did take some time, when he came back he wasn't alone. He got his friends with him ready with cameras held up to capture the big moment that was about to take place. Eka then ushered Widiani to a different room that was decorated with letters that spelled, “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” beautified with a giant flower arrangement. It took a few moments for Widiani to take it all in. Eka wasted no time, he knelt and said the most important question in his life, “Will you marry me, Widiani?” Of course, the answer was, “YES!” And they live happily ever after as husband and wife.

Proposal stories never fails to bring this warm and fuzzy feeling that brighten up my day. The detail of the proposal may vary, but one thing stays true: the personalities of the groom to be. Try as they might to conceal their struggle to remain cool, but their efforts usually fail. But this failure leaves them with the best thing they could ever offer to their girlfriends: their vulnerability and sincerity that ultimately win their hearts over.
