"When Cupid Runs Out of Arrows, But You're Meant To Be Anyway"
When one sees a couple so in love with each other walking down the aisle on their big day, what are the things that usually crosses one’s mind? How their love is so beautiful? How the way they look at each other with their eyes full of joy and excitement touches your heart? Or maybe curious questions such as how did they meet? What do they see in each other? And ultimately, what made them know that he or she is the one and in turn, decided that they want to spend the rest of their lives together?
As with many other couples that we have met, Alex and Henni were introduced to each other by their mutual friend. But unlike other love stories that started at love first sight, they began only as friends and it had stayed that way for a while. Until one day, one fated day, during the wedding season where one has to go to so many weddings - a friend’s wedding, a friend of a friend’s wedding, a nephew’s wedding, a long lost sister’s wedding, and Henni DM-ed Alex by chance, asking whether he was going to attend their friend’s wedding or not. Alex replied her, she texted back, and what started as a casual, random chat turned into their own love story before they even knew it. And the next wedding season, who would have thought the wedding they will be attending is their own! Instead of their friends’, they will be the host – the couple who is going to declare their vows to love and be there for each other, to cherish and respect one another until death do them apart.
You might think, “Oh is that it? That simple?”
The answer is yes and no.
Yes, how their love story began might sound so simple. Yet, it is one of the most inspiring. Why? Because Alex and Henni’s story is the example, a humble reminder to all of us that love doesn’t always have to be complicated and sophisticated like what we usually see in dramas to be beautiful and lasting.
No. In fact, most of the time, the most wonderful, strongest, and eternal love is one that is the simplest. One where you don’t expect anything from each other. One that accepts the other as who he or she is. One that comes to you when you least expect it. One that finds you at the most unexpected moment in the most unexpected way.
