To Her Heart
We have all heard the saying: “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” That may have been proven true. But what’s the way to a woman’s heart though? “The way to a woman’s heart, is through the hearts of her friends,” is Agung’s guide to win Sarah’s heart.
Agung and Sarah first met at one of the students organizations at their college. His love and admiration grew from the frequent glances and observation that led him to the conclusion that Sarah is a woman with an amazing personality. Whenever he peeked her way, she would always looked so happy while diligently taking care of her responsibility for the organization. Like she would always she the good out of the most unpleasant situations. That awesome personality must come from a full, patient and secure heart. And so he thought, “It’s time for me to execute my theory and make her mine!”
“But why lobby her friends?,” I asked him. He said, “I’m a planner. I gotta be smooth with my approach. I gotta be subtle but effective. When the day comes that I ask her to be my girlfriend, she’s gonna wanna ask her friends’ wisdom about me. So if I start befriending her friends from the beginning, they are going to put in some good words about me.”
Now that is genius to me!
Agung never missed a day of meeting. Ever! Every organization meeting equals time to get to know her and her friends. And those were valuable and strategic times for Agung. So whenever the group met, he would be sitting next to Sarah and her friends. Getting to know their topics of interests and help find solutions to their issues.
Did his theory work? Yes it did! Seven years plus years later, here they are, just got married and still working side by side together as an event planner.
I guess some things in life we just can’t change. We are creatures of habit. And there is comfort in staying in the lane of familiarity. Have they ever imagined working separately? I must think so. But would it be just as fun and rewarding as working seamlessly together? I don't think so.
Agung and Sarah’s relationship is like the perfect symphony. One runs the tunes, and the other keeps the tempo. One simply cannot go on without the other. And that’s why they’re better together.
