“That Little Gift from God”

Prayer is a powerful way for us mortals to be able to communicate with God almighty. Some may pray for forgiveness, while others will pray in hope of blessings. The power of prayer can no doubt be revolutionary. But trusting fully in God to one day gives us the partner in life may not be a mere miracle. Just ask Ressa and Christy.

Despite being in the same church community, Ressa and Christy did not know each other. It’s like those whatsapp groups that are full of random numbers that you think you know who those numbers belong to but have never saved because they were not close or important enough. They started out like those random numbers in the group. Never in a moment of randomness would they ever message each other. It was by God’s simple flick of a finger that they were attending a mass together and Ressa was taking a family picture for Christy. That was his opportunity to finally message that "random" number. It may sound just like another coincidental beginning but God always has a plan. The moment Ressa started chatting with Christy; that they found out they had so much in common. That’s where it all began – God always has a plan.

Trusting God has always been a key driver in their relationship. Even when the pandemic hit, they did not give up hope. Instead, they looked on the bright side and made sure that everything that did not go according to plan due to disruption of Covid went back to being on schedule! Despite having to postpone their wedding to next year, they still got their preparation under way. And when the Kairos team managed to get an opportunity to take their pre wedding pictures, it was a definitely a moment of grace. The day was out and sunny, with the scenery as clear as the sky that day. Even the deer that were usually playful could feel the love from the couple. The deer even managed to kiss in front of the camera! The moment felt like God just wanted them to have an awesome day out; and that’s something they fully embraced. I think if God had the chance to look at the pictures that were taken that day by both Ressa and Christy; he would give them two thumbs up. 

If love was a blessing from God, then Ressa and Christy have fully received it. They have committed to fully trusting Him and with his grace, their love continues to blossom. It is after all, just a little gift from God.
