Everything happens for a reason, and every path in our life has a purpose to teach us a lesson or to bring goodness. We just need to pause, so we can see clearer and think deeper to understand everything.
6 years ago Iwan decided to move to Makassar, a trading city in the east side of Indonesia, to find a new opportunity and manage a new business there. For many years, people from around the world have known that Makassar creates skillful sailors. It’s proven with their ships that have conquered many oceans.
Iwan knew that it’s not always easy to be a pioneer in such an young ages in an alien city. But his strong will and determination made him to be a person who is difficult to defeat.
But this is a different story about Makassar for him. Makassar did not just provide him a wide ocean to sail, but this city introduced him to Angel, the girl who he found not only beautiful, but also completed his heart. To Iwan, Angel is strong, independent and tough. She knows exactly what she wants and what directions she needs to head to. He found a lot of similarities between him and her. And that made him fall in love with this beautiful girl.
He knew that she was his lifetime companion that he had been looking for. There were no reasons to look further. It did not take long before he finally looked her in the eyes and asked her to marry him.
When they were asked why they fell for each other, their answers were the same. They both admire the strong heart he or she has.
Sometimes we don’t need a calm breeze to calm the rough ocean waves, and make the sail go smoothly. Sometimes what we need is a really strong wind to blow the sail so we can break through the storm.
Iwan knows that what he needs is a person who have a strong heart like he does. He knows, in times when storm hits hard, there will always be a person who stands by him to hold the ship's wheel as he climbs the mast to open the sails.
