Have Room for Little Surprises

“Congratulations, you’re 3 weeks pregnant!” said the gynecologist 12 days after our wedding day. We later found out that we needed to count it from the last time Anne had her period. Ok, that sums it up :)

Long before her pregnancy, Anne had always had a belief that she would give birth to a daughter and would name her Kiara, like the daughter of Simba in The Lion King.

We both love movies as much as we love food… Anne herself is a food stylist and a recipe maker. We still eat out quite often like before, even though itʼs possible for Anne to cook every day, because I want cooking to remain as her passion instead of it slowly becoming a routine. We would also help each other in the kitchen, or sometimes I would also play the part of the cook. Cooking is a good idea for us. Itʼs often fun and entertaining.

Weʼve only just begun and weʼre thankful for the blessings, especially for Kiara and how the pregnancy and labor went well. Some decisions weʼve made like deciding to have a simple wedding, to not have our honeymoon right after, and also for Anne to leave her office job 3 months before the planned due date, all of them have been rewarding. It provided some space for us, and for Anne to thoroughly read and prepare for her labor, including yoga, discovering some cute stuff for Kiara, and spending some time for babymoon.

Space is something weʼve maintained since our early days of relationship, and itʼs something we hope to keep long after weʼve said, “I do.” Not everything has to change like Stevieʼs belly (surprisingly now itʼs become a comfy seat for Baby K). Most importantly, the flame needs to remain the same. Just like the taste of the wine in The Wedding at Cana.
