Seven Years A Transformation
This is a story about how moments of separation and education transform a boy into a man to win the heart of his muse. Genny and Olyv’s love story began in 2012, he was a clueless shy boy who would just stood in the congregation of their local church, pondering how on earth would he make a superstar singer at church his girlfriend.
He prayed and prayed and prayed. But in our prayers, God might answer us one of these three ways: yes, no or maybe/not now. God’s answer was the latter: wait a few moments; not now. But Genny didn't listen; he relied on his box of silly tricks thinking it would win her over. His tricks ranged from sending spies to Olyv’s house to sending unlabeled, suspicious looking packages to her house that ended up in the dumpster cause Olyv was just too scared to open. None of the tricks worked. Maybe it wasn't His timing for them yet.
Moments passed by and Olyv noticed the absence of a timid boy. Genki had left for military school in the neighboring city: Magelang. Life went on calmly as if waiting for a resurgence to happen. Then something happened in June 2018, Olyv’s phone suddenly lit up from a text she received from a familiar man. It was Genny. “I don't know what it is, but he was different: no longer timid, braver, more eloquent, chivalrous. He’s changed. He has turned into a gentleman.” It’s safe to say military school transformed him for the better.
In the wise words of a best selling author: Steve Harvey, “All men can change. All men will change. But men don't change for just any woman. He’s going to change for the right woman.” It may take Genny seven years to mature up and become the man that God intended him to be. Later Genny admitted to Olyv that he gone through losts of tough moments in military school such as losing two of his phones when he snuck out to hear Olyv’s voice on the phone even for a brief moment. Cause her voice is the fuel that kept him going. Every man’s journey is different. What matters is: he gets there. He ran an awesome race. And now he doesn't have to run the race of life alone because he has the love of his life to run this life with: Olyv.
