Push And Pull
To me, love at first sight is a form of attraction so undeniably strong that triumphs any kind of doubt or fear. The moment Will and Grace locked eyes in 2012 was when his family paid a visit to her home. You see, their parents are friends. Will and Grace were both very young, he was full of doubt and fear, so Will did not make a move.
Time went by in the blink of an eye, five years later Will and Grace met again; this time at a church event where Will was the photographer of the event. Will’s brain must have gone into Sherlock Holmes mode when he saw her that day; calculating and speculating ways to finally get to know her. Will has broken out of his shy and fearful shell to fight for his love at first sight. He couldn't let this moment pass him by.
Finally he got it! Great photographers capture seemingly small moments that speak of great volume. Click click click! In frame were pictures of Grace in deep prayer with the One Above. He thought, “These photographs are my golden tickets to her heart.” But the event was so hectic that he forgot the most crucial thing: to ask for her number so he could send the pictures. However, when there’s a will, there’s a way. Will asked one of Grace’s friends for her number.
The moment he got home, he texted her the pictures from the event. To his surprise, the initial chat did not go as smoothly as he had envisioned it. But he pressed on. A month later, Will texted Grace again wishing her Dad happy birthday. Still, very little response from Grace. Will almost gave up. He wasn't going to force his infatuation on her. He wanted everything to flow as naturally and organically as possible. So he backed down, but still praying and hoping that God will make a way.
Ask and it shall be given. Less than a month after their last online conversation, Grace started to show interest in Will. First, she asked Will to resend the pictures from the church event. Then she would comment on Will’s insta-stories. And the rest is history.
Life has a very funny way of playing with our emotions to test our eagerness and sincerity. Often things wouldn't go our way when we want it the most. But when we surrender and let fate takes it course, that’s when true magic happens. That magic is called love.
