Nothing Else Matters
Have you ever heard of the expression: “My emotions got the best of me?” Emotion is a natural instinctive reaction to circumstances, mood or relationship with others. Negative emotion usually occurs when our plans do not turn out according to our expectation. The stresses and pressure that come inwardly and outwardly affect our emotional well-being and therefore affect an execution of a certain activity.
Taking pre-wedding pictures at an exotic location is seemingly a non-negotiable on the to-do-list when it comes to wedding planning. After all, everyone’s doing it, it’s the trend that is not going anywhere anytime soon. But Anthon and Meidina did not let society’s expectation dictate their actions and decisions. After carefully weighing out their options, they decided to do their pre-wedding photo shoot locally and save the big trip for their honeymoon and trust us to take the pictures then. They came to this decision because they wanted to be liberated of the worries of wedding planning so they could enjoy their trip to the fullest.
Japan was the destination of their honeymoon, Hakuba to be exact. They chose this location because it is still relatively unknown to the masses. They like to explore and dig deeper and deeper because that’s where you find the purest of gold. Their backdrop was all white and dreamy as it was winter in Japan. As it was beautiful and picturesque, it was also unpredictable. As they were enjoying their time and taking pictures, the rain started to pour on them.
It would have been understandable for Anthon or Meidina to start panicking or get upset over the sudden weather change. But that was not the case at all. They did not let the downpour rain on their parade. They embraced the rain, they looked into each others eyes, got all cozy and that’s when the magic happened. When they did not let their emotions get the best of them, they were able to effortlessly take the best pictures. They were liberated of the unnecessary worries of wedding planning and they were able to enjoy themselves to the fullest amidst the stormy day. It was simply Anthon and Meidina, nothing else matters.
If we could only choose one lesson learned from Anthon and Meidina, it would be to set our eyes on who is important in life. To not get distracted by the fickle, temporary, meaningless things that life may try to persuade us with. It was simply Anthon and Meidina, nothing else matters.
