Not So Secret Admirer

Once upon a time there was a secret admirer named Aaron, who would always try to make his presence known by the woman he adored oh so much, Carrie.

It all started when they were students at Melbourne University. They were great friends, but Aaron wanted something more out of that friendship. But time was not on his side. Carrie was exclusive with someone else. So Aaron respectfully waited while still remaining his own wonderful self.

Two years went by and finally time was on his favor. Carrie was a single woman at last. Aaron wasted no time. After all he spent years suppressing his overwhelmingly strong feelings toward her. One day, he took her for dinner.

Aaron is a food aficionado who rarely leaves any food on his plate. But that night, his stomach was filled with all kinds of butterflies and nerves that he hardly touched the food on his plate. He wasn't his usual self. He was nervous. He was about to confess his feelings and he wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. But that moment was it for him. He wasn't going to let more days pass by without letting her know how he feels.

Interestingly Carrie was not shaken by this recent discovery, “I found it funny. I’ve always thought he’s a sweet guy with good attention to detail. So I thought why not give it a chance.” At this moment Carrie hasn't developed much affection for Aaron. But this soon changed a few months after that magical night.

Aaron proved to be more than a nice guy. He was dedicated in showing his love for her. Carrie is an egg lover who would do nearly anything for a bowl of warm steamed eggs. Diligently he studied and practice countless times until he got nailed it, just how she likes it. That moment when she tasted the warm bowl of perfectly cooked steamed eggs was the moment Aaron made Carrie realized, “there was someone perfect for me by my side for many years but I never noticed him.”

People say the way to someone’s heart is through their stomach. I disagree. The key to a person’s heart is through dedication and attention to detail. People often get caught up in doing extravagant things to prove their love, but neglect the fact that something as simple as a bowl of steamed eggs can reveal the purest of intentions and move somebody to their core. True love lies in the details.
