It’s 05.00 am when I arrived at Bryan’s Apartment.

Even the sun had not shown her beautiful face yet. My thought it will be really hectic in this very early morning at their house just like every wedding usually do. But when I stepped into the house, every thing looked very normal and calm. Yes, I saw flower arrangements, I saw wedding decoration hanging here and there, I saw his sister doing her make up, but it was just like another morning ritual. I decided to sit in their living room and wait.

And then I saw Bryan’s grandparents out from their room. Their white hair and wringkles of wisdom said much about their life experience. They gave me a very genuine good morning smile. But what I saw after that was priceless. They walk slowly to the very corner of this house where there is a big window facing to the east, a small coffee table with only 2 seats was there. Then Bryan’s Granny started pouring tea to her husband’s cup and hers. They started to have a light conversation, smiles and laughter sometimes and enjoying their tea until the sun rise up. I suppose they do this every morning.

I was enjoying that moment so much that I forget to capture it. But that moment taught me how love is not all about the beautiful start. The two words that was said before the altar at the beginning are not just mere words. It’s a promise. A promise that takes a lifetime to be fulfilled. And no, it’s not a promise that it it’s going to be an easy happily ever after, it’s a promise that your love for each other are going to be worth it for a lifetime.

Lots of Love,
Klaus Khan
