Juste Fou De Toi
The best part of having a partner is having someone who will love us despite of our short comings, and refuse to give up on us. Instead of imposing judgements, they support and encourage when life gets the best of us. Suliman and Karina are the perfect definition of “for better, for worse.”
We lay our scene in a small town called Lille: located three hours away from the city of lights and romance, Paris. It was graduation season in France and Karina is one of the proud and fearless dream chasers prancing in at the commencement. As a responsible young man, Suliman was already working in Indonesia to prepare for their future together. However, Karina is still his first priority. A celebration is in order; so Suliman took two days off of his schedule to cheer the loudest, bring the most festive bouquet of flowers for Karina on her big day in France. To kill two birds with one stone, Suliman also doubles as Karina’s strong luggage carrier all the way from France to Indonesia.
Distance means nothing when someone is everything. The toga was worn, the graduation cap was thrown in the air and it was time to finally say goodbye to Lille and leave for Paris to drop off the apartment keys. Little did they know, they forgot to bring the keys with them to Paris. Without hesitance, Suliman took the next train back to Lille to safely deliver the apartment keys back to Paris. That six-hour trip is a true testament to the Michael Bolton song When A Man Loves A Woman.
These lovebirds are hopeless romantics and warriors of love. One bad chapter did not distance them from Paris. Suliman and Karina chose to go back to Paris as their pre-wedding photoshoot location to replenish the cracks with fresh gold ink that resembles the twinkling lights of the majestic Eiffel Tower. They gave Paris the blank canvas to paint it with the invisible colors of love. It’s their way to turn their temporary misery to victory and beauty. It’s their way of saying to Paris, “Juste fou de toi.” Just crazy about you. No matter what happens in Paris, the good, the bad, the not so merry, we will always be Juste fou de toi. Because “Paris will always be a good idea!” And no matter what surprises the future holds, I will always and forever be juste fou de toi.
