It’s Raining, Man. Haleluya!
Wendi and Linda are two very extraordinary individuals that showed us the focus that they have for each other. Their pre-wedding photo shoot in Sumba taught us a very valuable lesson: as long as we’re together, I’m already wining!
Wendi and Linda are Pontianak born lovers who now reside in Singapore. They have been living in Singapore since they were high school classmates turned sweet hearts. So it only makes sense to have their wedding in Singapore where it all started, but they chose Sumba as their romantic photo shoot destination.
Singaporeans are known to be dedicated, driven and busy individuals. We could only imagine what it took for them to take a few days off their busy schedule to strike a few poses with us. And we could not be more excited to capture their candid, unplanned moments.
An unplanned weather it was. The session started out perfectly as we planned and prayed for. The sun was shinning, the sky was blue, and the clouds were dancing gracefully. It couldn't be more perfect of a backdrop for Wendi and Linda. But that heavenly sight soon dissolved as Father Nature felt it was getting too hot for him. So He decided it was time to shower some rain onto the gorgeous land of Sumba. The light turned grey, the sun went hiding and soon it the rain started dripping.
It is only normal and expected for any couple to feel anxious and stressed by this sudden change of weather. They might complain, “What about my hair and make up? What about the dress that I rented? What about this suit that I especially tailored for this pre-wedding photo shoot?” Or most commonly, “Lord, why us? Why now?”
When normal people seek to blame, Wendi and Linda chose to see the rain in a totally different light. The rain was just another prop for them to display their love to each other. The rain didn't stop them from having fun. When a drop of rain hit Linda’s forehead, Wendi kissed it all away as he covered them with his jacket. Linda gleefully smiled from ear to ear because she realized that not all heroes wear cape. Sometimes they wear a jacket, a humble white shirt and dusty blue slacks.
What a glorious sight to witness. The perfect weather would make a lovely picture. But an imperfect weather makes the most flawless pictures.
