Give and Receive
After a short conversation with Joanne, I came to the conclusion that she and Nico have a rather endearing dynamic. I asked Joanne, “After four years of being together what was the most memorable thing Nico has ever done for you?” Then she told me a story of when she forgot her phone and didn't even realize she had left it at Nico’s house during one of their romantic rendezvous. The moment Nico realized Joanne’s carelessness had once again got the best of her, he rushed and drove over to her house. By the time Joanne arrived home, so did Nico with her phone safely delivered. “Oh my God! I didn't even realize I had left this at your house! Thank you so much for having my back! You’re the best!”
Behind every strong woman, there is a little girl that still lives in her heart that yearns for a man to take a good care of her. I see Nico of having that capability of not only taking a good care of Joanne, but also treats her like the queen that she is. Joanne has mentioned to Nico plenty of times that she is not a fan of receiving flowers for any occasion whatsoever, “I prefer real gifts! HAHAHAH”, she playfully told me. But Nico couldn't help himself. He’s just a romantic guy who desires to shower Joanne with flowers at any moment without notice.
“Happy anniversary! It’s our last one before becoming husband and wife, Baby! I love you so much,” Nico texted Joanne as the flower arrangement were being delivered to her doorstep.
I know Joanne despises flowers, but come on, isn’t it so sweet though!! I get the concept of honoring your partner’s love language is the best way to go. I also get that Joanne might not feel his love as much as he would like the moment she received the gorgeous flowers. But flowers can never go wrong. Right?
Hearing Nico and Joanne’s story made me feel all bubbly and giddy. It got me smiling from ear to ear. They are just so perfect for each other. They compliment each other in their strengths and weaknesses. Not one of them put any pressure for the other one to act or behave a certain way. They simply give and receive. And maybe that’s the best way to love; is just simply to give and receive.
