I enjoy every moment I spent with my clients, the couples that I mostly call as friends. Every session with them has easily become our precious time that I always remember. But I must admit that there are a few of them that I remember most, and this couple is one of them.

I remember, my first meeting with them, it was on the wedding exhibition, Margareth came with her sister, and asked everything about wedding. She told me about her wedding details. But during our conversation, she looked curious and was interested about the wedding itself. You know, it’s not like just another couple who are looking for a vendor just to meet their wedding-planning deadline, but she looked very excited about all these wedding things. Starting from that moment on, I said to myself that I wanted to capture their wedding. It finally came true!

They decided to go to Labuan Bajo. One of my most favourite places for taking pictures. They invited some of their best friends to tag along, and it made this journey a memorable one. We made new friends. We laughed, talked, and took plenty of pictures. It didn’t end there. There was a moment when Wei Liang was snorkelling, we were looking at him from the boat and we started to talk about how they first met, and it felt so right choosing Labuan Bajo for them.

They were in same uni in Singapore. They met at the snorkelling course, and Wei Liang was interested with Margareth since he felt that this girl was, not only high maintenance, but also talkative. She is full of life! But, Margareth didn’t feel the same way, since she thought that Wei Liang was gay. So, despite of wasting her time for chasing the wrong guy, she decided to just let all this go. Just like that. But Wei Liang didn’t stop chasing her.

She remember, their first date. Wei Liang tried to ask her to go on a date with him. He bought movie tickets for two, it was Shrek if I’m not mistaken, and during his anxiety, he said to her, “I have extra tickets. Do you want to take it?”

At that moment, Margareth was like ^$& (@^@, I mean, who in this modern time still uses such an old trick to ask someone to go on a date???? But she couldn’t resist her self to say yes. And it went by very nicely. They had a chance to get know each other deeply.  

Long before that happened, Margareth actually had her own “Perfect Guy” criteria. She fantasised that she would find him and be her future husband. He must be charming (of course), active, full of spirit, and has a positive aura. And she realised that everything she had on that list could be found on Wei Liang him. She knew that Wei Liang was the hidden gem that she had waiting for.

Back to the time when she told me this story in the middle of our trip to Labuan Bajo, at our break time of our photo session, Wei Liang was busy of snorkelling, and we were waiting for him on a boat. She said that too bad she was wearing makeup at that time, if not, she would be joining him for snorkelling. But she looked at me with sparkly eyes, the same exact look when she had at the exhibition, she just realised and excitingly said to me, “Don’t you think this is like a dejavu? Like, our first meeting was exactly like this. We were in the pool, in the snorkelling course, and we were interested in each other. Now, I can’t believe that we are doing our pre-wedding and soon we will be husband and wife!!”
