Fifty More Years

Hi, my name is Steve. I’m one of the photographers here at Kairos Works.

A new era had just begun for our family. My brother, Michael is now a married man. I have gained a new sister in law, Ria.

Where did the time go? It seems like it was only yesterday you were just getting into kindergarten school. I remember your chubby self in that cute school uniform. We used to spend so much time together. Remember we used to cut school all the time in first grade and played video games til we drop? Those were the golden days.

As time went by we didn't spend that much time together. This is only understandable because we were exploring our own personalities and finding who we are as men. But I recall the moment you started getting into event organizing business. It seems like you were having a lot of fun. I was so proud of you for being able to find your passion very early on in life. But, after thinking about it, maybe you had that much fun doing it because that was when you met Ria.

Ria is one special lady. Her loyalty to you knows no bound. She loves you. She loves you hard! She falls in love with the good and the bad that you see is yourself. Her ability to always see you in a positive light lets me know no matter what life throws your way, you will always have a best friend by your side, Ria.

I know as men we avoid deep conversations because we are scared it would get awkward. But as a brother, man to man, I would like to let you know how happy I am now that you have found someone you truly deserve. Just as Ria would always stand by you; you would also protect and defend her honor because that’s what I have always known you for. Allow me to extend my short and humble prayer. I pray that this love of yours will always blossom despite the change of seasons in your life. The most magnificent feeling you will ever experienced is just to love and be loved in return. Seeing you two still being in love fifty years from now would make me the happiest brother in the whole wide world.
