Eiffel-ieve in You

Every strong relationship must have a chest full of stories to tell to their children and grandchildren to remind them of true love that never ever gives up. Those stories are filled with equal mixture of the good, the silly and the inevitably unpleasant. Those challenging moments usually come with zero notice, abrupt, and time sensitive. However the bond between those couple who overcame those testing events will become as strong as chains.

This love story began when Veronica looked into Riady’s eyes and said, “I don't have many requests. Ever since I was a little girl, I dream of having the Eiffel Tower as the background of my pre-wedding pictures; our pre-wedding pictures.” Like a genie who was unable to say no to his favorite person Riady said, “Your wish is my command!” So he planned their journey to Paris, France immaculately down to the smallest detail. Everything was under control. Or so he thought.

A few days prior to their departure to Paris, a rock bottom moment hit Riady’s family hard. Riady’s beloved grandfather collapsed and was hospitalized. A few days of intense care didn't seem to make any difference. Dear grandfather breathed his last breath. This moment in time placed Riady in an extremely difficult position. How could he be there for his family without compromising his commitment to fulfill his promise to Veronica?

He had no choice but to improvise. He instructed Veronica to fly ahead to Paris, and he will follow soon after. With the very little time he had, he managed to be present for his family and honor his grandfather for the very last time.

A few days after his grandfather’s memorial, Riady flew from Medan, Indonesia to Paris. But when it rains, it pours. Of course it wasn't all that simple. The weather was so crazy hazy that his flight to Singapore was delayed for hours and hours. This delay snow balled into Riady missing his flight to Paris, therefore must detour to London then fly to Paris. He finally reached Paris at four in the afternoon, which cost him to rework their pre-wedding photoshoot and make Veronica’s dream come true. To say it was a dramatic journey was an understatement.

An ordinary man becomes a lover when he decides that life was not going to rain on his parade. Sure it may pour, but he will make sure that he got a big enough umbrella to cover him and his baby. Even if it floods, he knows that a rainbow waits for them at the end. And it’s all worth it!
