Echo
I’ve always believed that the strongest relationship grew out of friendship. Love is friendship set on fire. It’s the kind of fire that would still be in flame even when distance keep lovers apart. Nothing can separate the fire that two souls set out.
Michael and Sieny’s relationship had a very simple beginning. They both met at a place where they spent a lot of their time, church in Sydney. Their first meeting was not fireworks and thunders. But big things usually have humble beginnings. It started out with a light smoke that eventually grow into something stronger.
Having spent a lot of time participating at the church events, their friendship naturally grew more and more. Light conversations led to much deeper conversations. From gadgets, to the economy, to growing spiritually together; no topic was off limit.
A friend is someone that we can talk about anything to. A friend is your first hello in the morning, and the last goodnight before we rest our minds. It’s like you want to stop talking but you can’t. Because the words they speak do not touch the ears, it touches the heart. The echo of their words is the doorbell that opens up the desire of the heart to be together.
However, life is not that simple. Michael decided that he was going to pursue his career in Jakarta. Sieny still needed to complete her studies in Sydney. And so they went their separate ways. Apart and silence they may be, but their hearts glued by the memories of the conversations they had.
There is no such thing as coincidence. The Master of love in heaven plans it all. After two years were spent in silence, they met again in Bali at the wedding of Sienny’s sister. The echo was still there. It got stronger. The time they spent apart had matured and prepared them for this moment. After asking for Sieny’s gave their blessings to Michael, he finally made it official. They were finally a couple.
After enduring five months of long distance relationship, Sieny finally headed home to Jakarta for good. Their dating period was like a slice of red velvet cake: rich and sweet. Soon after the parents met in Makasar, Indonesia for a formal proposal. There they decided that December 8th 2018 was the date of Michael and Sieny’s wedding day; their happily ever after.
Sometimes love does not happen instantly. Love takes time to mature. The waves of life may sweep them apart. But the echo of their encounter will carry them through their journey.
