Probably most relationships started from having mutual friends. Example. You were both in the same school but were never really friends, but you’ve seen them around, until one day the love fairy sent a cupid to your life, and call them Mutual Friends.

That was pretty much what happened to Jeffrey and Tia as well. They had been in the same school since junior high. They had seen each other around school but never really introduced themselves. You can pretty much say that they were just another schoolmate.

High school came. Friends were shuffled to different classes. Some old. Some new. Some… They might just be the one.

High school was when Jeffrey and Tia actually got to know each other. They were placed in the same class and who ever would guess that things would turn out that great!? They started being in the same group for an event and so they had to go here and there together often. How convenient! :) Of course, they hit it off immediately and became good friends.

The funny thing is, Jeffrey actually had his eyes on one of Tia’s friends, but somehow for one reason or another, he diverted his heart to Tia. I do believe that Tia’s friend was the cupid that was sent to their lives. Working his famous magic arrows. Pew pew! Bull’s-eye! Hit Jeffrey and Tia with his love arrow in the perfect spot. And they started to become a high-school sweetheart.

I do love high-school sweetheart stories. I love how committed they are to each other. I love how mature their thoughts were even though they were in their teen years, their so-called “experimental” stage of life. But to be able to make a decision for “the one” at such a young age and stay in that relationship from high school to the point where you walk down the aisle and recite your lifetime vows to one another, that is just… Amazing! Fascinating!

“There’s nothing special in our relationship, nothing like those on Instagram ‘relationship goal,’” Tia said. “What makes us last this long? I think it’s because of communication. If you have a problem, talk about it. Don’t make decisions with your emotions. Meet somewhere in the middle.”
