Boy to Man
This is a love story of an amazing couple who spent twelve years together, Indra and Silvia. They met when they were in high school. Both of them were young, wild and free. It’s not an easy thing to do to grow up together with your high school sweet heart. With age comes different interests and vision. Most couple would grow out of each other. But Indra and Silvia proved with patience, commitment and understanding everything is possible.
When I asked Silvia what was her most memorable moment from their twelve year long relationship? “It’s impossible to choose just one. It’s been an incredible journey with Indra. But if I had to choose one moment, it would have to be the most recent: the proposal.”
Indra, Silvia and Silvia’s parents had planned a short getaway to Singapore. The night before the trip, they had a dinner to finalize the itinerary of their travel. But little did Silvia and her parents knew, that was not all Indra had to say during the casual dinner. Indra waited until Silvia had to go hit the loo to maintain his cover. Once Silvia was gone, Indra began telling Silvia’s parents of his intentions to marry their daughter and showed them the ring. The parents were elated but remained cool because they were a part of Indra’s big plan to propose to Silvia.
At last, they were in Singapore, Gardens by the Bay to be Exact. Silvia was being the perfect tourist and therefore Indra’s plan went according to plan. She was talking pictures after pictures. Finally the big moment came. Silvia was posing for the camera, looked at Indra who was by her side. There he was on bended knee, with a beautiful ring in his hand and a big question to ask of her, “Will you marry me?” Silvia was shook! Silvia looked the other way and there her parents were taking pictures of the joyous moment. Of course, she said, “YES!”
It was so thoughtful of Indra to ask Silvia’s parents for her hand in marriage and planned the whole thing out. But perfection comes with a lot of patience and a lot of growing up to do. Silvia might met Indra as a boy, but now he has turned into a man whose deep love and commitment to Silvia doesn't wither as the moon changes its phase. Here’s to one hundred and twenty more years!
