Better Together

Juli and Calista are Sydney based lovebirds who have been together for seven years. A wise man once told me: maturity comes with experience and the desire to grow. I couldn't agree more. Throughout their seven years together, Juli and Calista have both left their comfort zone in order to grow for the better.

When asked about Calista’s favorite quality of Juli, she answered, “I love his brutal honesty. He got my back and sincerely wants me to be the best me I can be.” When they first started dating, Calista was shy, timid and quiet. But Juli knew there was this effervescence inside of Calista waiting to break out of her shell.  So he encouraged her without cease to be more out going and speak up more for what she believed in. Here we are, seven years later, Calista is a woman bursting with energy. Juli brought up the best in her like no one else does.

Vice versa, Juli is a lucky man whom fuel for life comes from Calista’s never ending care and affection. Whenever they were apart and life just seems to be crushing in on Juli, there she was cheering him on in the simplest way, a text message. “How’s your day going? Did you have lunch already? I miss you.” Suddenly the road doesn't seem to dark to drive through, life’s burden and concern seem to be lighter. Suddenly he feels all better. Life is definitely more wonderful when she’s around.

However, like all couples, Juli and Calista too encounter moments of lovers’ quarrel that puts their relationship through the test of patience, humility and most of all test to listen. Juli and Calista face this challenge head on. They embrace this process. And came out as a stronger couple. Whenever conflict arises, they would take time to cool down individually. They let out their emotions or selfish intention to hurt the other and focus on the solution to better themselves as a couple. After their ego subsides, they would come to a quiet private place, talk it out, forgive each other and move on.  

I see Juli and Calista’s relationship like a fine bottle of wine. Getting sweeter and sweeter each year as they mature and develop in flavors because they have gone through all the process together. As a result bring so much joy and enlightenment to those who listen to their journey together.
