“Bagai Pinang Dibelah Dua”
Have you ever met someone that you thought was a random stranger but turns out to share all the things in common with you? That is the non-coincidental story of Felix and Chiara.
Felix and Chiara both grew up in Indonesia’s rainy city: Bogor. They both went to the same school all throughout kindergarten to high school, but the rain in Bogor must have blurred their vision that made them unaware of each other’s existence. But the rain could not separate them forever. Once again, they both continued their education at the same university located in Karawaci, Indonesia. The rain must stepped down from the throne because it was Summer time lovin’ season in Karawaci.
Their first introductory conversations took them by surprise and hit them with a bag full of emotions. It was almost impossible to be oblivious of someone who was so closely groomed to each other. However, they could not be more ecstatic to have met a friend to experience college together. Their similar childhood experiences bond them together and prompted a special relationship between them.
After achieving their degrees in Karawaci, they chose to further enrich their knowledge in Sydney. Their journey together made them realize they are more dynamic when they are together. Although they share similar personality types but Chiara is able to balance it all out. Felix’s character of overthinking and fretting were washed away when Chiara pours encouraging words to calm him down.
Felix and Chiara are what Indonesians call “Bagai pinang dibelah dua.”: two individuals who posses identical traits and behaviors. In addition to sharing the same personality type, they are also both very thoughtful and modest. When planning and completing the finishing touches of their wedding, they chose to personally ride around town. They braved the heavy chance of rain in order to deliver the invitations by themselves. Because the road traveled is more enjoyable when journeyed together. Being Bogor locals, they know full well: there would be no rainbow without the rain.
