Let me start by sharing an interesting story.

Since I was a child, I have been crazy about weddings! If you guys know me, and have read all of our blogs, you would understand. On the day when I wrote this, I was on my flight to Manado for anothe wedding, and I have just finished watching the movie “27 Dresses.”

I’ve heard about this movie before, and I know that people said that this was a funny and a very good, but I hadn’t watched it before. Not once. From the beginning of the movie, I felt really a connection with Jane. Her craziness about anything wedding related, and how she loved to help her friends arranging everything. Someway and somehow, I feel the same way. Wedding is beautiful. Such extravagant! And there are lots of things in weddings that symbolize love itself. There aren’t enough days in the world for me to list the best parts of weddings, but I couldn’t agree more when Jane said that the best part, is when the bride walks down the aisle. So bright and happy. And although everybody in the room is looking at her, there is only one that is looking at her differently. Full of love and compassion. The Groom. Yes. I’ve always loved how this kind of gaze can change the whole atmosphere of the wedding, more than the sparkling crystal chandeliers that are hanging on the ceiling, or the beautiful floral arrangements on the dining tables.

When I watched that movie, I suddenly remembered about Fendy & Maggie’s wedding. I remembered about the type of gaze that I mentioned above. That gaze that can warm up the whole atmosphere. It was an outdoor wedding and it was kind of windy.;) But you cannot deny the look on one’s face when they are really in love. Ok, let me share a little story about them. Fendy & Maggie have known each other since they were in the same school in Medan, but their relationship faced a challenge when Maggie had to stay in Sydney and Fendy had to manage his business in Medan. We know it’s not easy when distance plays a part in your relationship. Especially when it’s thousands of miles of a distance! Skype and Internet connection will be your new best friends. It is difficult when you have to see the camera of your laptop to see each other’s eyes and hold the mouse instead of their hands. And what makes everything even harder? When everything was settled, and it looked promising. Fendy’s business was growing, while Maggie had everything that she needed and wanted in Sydney; a good job, a good life, and good friends. But there’s a part of you that understands, there is a space on your heart that only fits one piece of puzzle, and it cannot be replaced with any other.

In the 10 years of their relationship, Sydney was home to Maggie. She had a hundred reasons to stay, but she chose to go back to Medan, because Fendy gave her a thousand reasons to come back. And it completes everything. When we stood in their Matrimony, witnessing them saying their vows, I could not take my eyes off them. How they stared into each other’s eyes. That was more than enough to say what they felt inside. You know? The way you look at someone and you know that you will take care of them, love them with you all heart, and see your future in their eyes? That was what I saw. And suddenly everyone shared their happiness that night.

I turned of the screen in front of me, and ended the movie with this amazing feeling. When I looked around, almost everyone was watching the same movie “27 Dresses,” hahaha. It completed my feeling on that day.
