A Box Full of Dreams

When I was a little girl, there was a moment when my father told me, “Grow to be a woman who helps a man build his home. Never be afraid to face hardship with a man who has a plan. Be the woman your children would be proud to call mom because you demonstrate loyalty, integrity and love to the family. Be the voice of courage for your husband when no one believes in him. Share your dreams and vision together. With fervent prayers and God’s grace He shall guide him to The Promise Land.” I didn't understand him until becoming wife not long ago. And the story of Margo and Juni further confirms my father’s advice.

Their love story officially began the moment they graduated from university twenty-one years ago. On one fine day, Margo’s father told them, “It is good for a man to marry a woman when they have fulfilled their education.” Honoring his father’s wish, they became husband and wife at the age of 22.

The beginning of their marriage was humble, they only have each other and a box full of dreams that they shared together. One of Juni’s dreams is to be able to bask in the golden sunset in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Moments became hours, days became weeks, months became years. They build their lives together, became successful together, turn their house into a castle, and Margo turned Juni’s dream into reality. Not long ago, he took her to most romantic city in the world, Paris. He prepared this cruise that would pass by the Eiffel Tower. As the ship cruised by the iconic structure, Margo held Juni so close and whisper, “Sorry it took me a while, but we’re here in front of your dreams, The Eiffel Tower. Are you happy?” She glanced at him with tears bursting out of her eyes, with voice barely heard she replied close to his ear, “Thank you!”

Some dreams may take an instant to fulfill. Some dreams take a while to come true. But all dreams are beautiful because they are shared with the one you love the most. Sure there’s no feeling more exhilarating than the moment your dreams come to life. But what’s more meaningful is the journey endured together. It’s about getting wet under the rain together, it’s about running together to chase that sunset, it’s about together for good, the bad and the indifferent.
